Japan

Japan, a country of fascinating contrasts, never ceases to surprise those who have been venturing there for a few centuries now. Combining rigorous traditions and exalted modernism, the Japanese mentality plunges the foreigner into a constant paradox. If Shinto shrines delight the traveller with their majestic character, overflowing with wisdom and harmony, the noisy and frightening life of large cities, disfigured by multiform skyscrapers and countless flashing neon pubs, leaves you with a feeling of exile and confusion that is quite disturbing.

Its magnificent landscapes, dominated by Mount Fuji and its permanent threat, its ancestral culture that continues despite Western influences, make this country a destination whose exoticism can only lead to wonder. Living in Japan means discovering the mysteries of yesterday as well as considering the extraordinary possibilities of an enigmatic future. Welcome to Japan!

JCN is a Japanese organization founded by two American expatriates living in Japan, teaching English and helping cats since 1993. They founded the group after having success in cat care in their own community through TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programs, a population control method in which street cats are captured to be sterilized and returned to their place of origin.
